About the auction

To bid online, click on one of the items (or all of them!) to register and enter the auction bidding.

The auction closes at 4 p.m. PDT on Monday, May 12. Bids start at $100 and can be raised in $10 increments. All winners will be notified by e-mail soon after the auction closes during the week of May 12.

All proceeds of the online auction will be donated to the San Diego Zoo's bear research and conservation projects.

NOTE: By placing a bid for these items, you are committing to fulfilling your obligation to purchase this item should your submitted amount be the winning bid.

PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU INTEND TO PURCHASE THIS ITEM.

You will be notified by e-mail when you submit a bid, as well as when you have been outbid if your amount was the current high bid. If your amount is the winning bid at the end of the auction, you will be notified by e-mail of your winning bid. You will be contacted shortly thereafter by e-mail and/or phone by the San Diego Zoo to finalize payment, submit necessary personal information, and to make shipping arrangements.

These auction items are considered "priceless" and the fair market value will be determined by the purchase price.

The Bear Awareness Days event is an opportunity for San Diego Zoo guests to meet face to face with bear keepers and researchers who can provide you with the "bear essentials," from what a bear eats to individual bear personalities to what the San Diego Zoo is doing for bear conservation around the world.

In celebration of Bear Awareness Days, we are offering these exclusive, one-of-a-kind bear-created items and behind-the-scenes tours for you to bid on online. All proceeds from the winning bids go to our bear research and conservation projects.

Description: Scout is the clown of the two grizzly brothers. He enjoys teasing brother Montana with his fish. Recently, the cubs made a trip to our hospital for an exam. With the veterinarians’ permission and patience, we painted paws in between routine radiographs and dental cleanings, and pressed them on to canvas to produce a truly unique set of prints from each cub.
